After going to see Wicked, last week, I was thinking..... certain types of people probably identify more with different characters. For instance, Glinda the Good Witch had a certain quality that I really admired , I felt more like Glinda then I did the "wicked" witch (which I can't quite remember how to spell cause I've only seen the play once!!)... So my question is? Which Wicked girl did you feel you are more like? (YOU CAN"T SAY BOTH!!!!) Leave a comment and make it interesting. Much love and hopefully a pic or two coming soon of the girls swimming lessons! (ahem.. Cat.....)

Um, first of all, calling me out of your blog won't get your pictures any faster. It's not my fault you were the Mom without the camera. :) Seriously though I will try to get that card out of the camera this weekend. Secondly, I loved Glinda in the play! I thought she was hilarious and so fun. But admirable, not so much. She really never did anything good unless forced. She did some growing during the play, but overall she is, shallow, self serving, and certainly "groveled in submission to feed her own ambition." Elphaba was treated like a leper even though she always tried to do the right things. She had integrity and never backed down from what she believed in. And, of course, she got the man in the end. :) Hmmm, maybe I shouldn't comment on blogs after taking Nyquil.
Oooo... that's interesting!
I think I relate more to Glinda's constant need to please others and keep up appearances. She tries to remain positive so others can look to her as a source of hope - even when she's hurt on the inside. I think I'm more like her than Elphiba who speaks her mind and always stands up for what she believes, even if it ruffles feathers. I hate confrontation! I do think Elphiba is admirable and I wish at times I was more like her though.
Well, you see... I haven't seen the play (because I DIDN"T GO because I had just DELIVERED A BABY yet another way in which this child, like the others, is INTERFERING with my social life) but we're not bitter here, we're just sleep deprived.
I have read the book, however, and from what I hear, it's very , very different form the play. I'd say I'm like Elphaba in the way she carries her guilt like baggage, and it eventually destroys her. And in her relentless pursuit of what she deems to be right. She craved understanding and never took events or people at face value. But I am not green.
Like Glinda I am determined to be optimistic, even if it blinds me to obvious failures. And am dead loyal to friends. But I wouldn't date a munchkin.
Are you a good witch, or a bad witch?
