We also had a treat this year from some Christmas Elves! The girls loved all the girly things that were delivered by the elves. I wonder if the elves like cottage cheese?

Christmas Elves and 2008

Wow. That is all I can say about the last couple of days. We have partied hard the last couple of days! We have done alot of fun stuff including but not limited to the following: Enchanted Forrest, minor medical for my ear and then another trip a few days later, Christmas eve movie marathon, Christmas Day which involves driving between Millington and Germantown at least twice., practicing our Rock Band skills, shopping with Oma, playing the Wii with freinds, preparing a lesson/or talk each for the following Sunday, exchanging and/or returning gifts.....

I don't think the kids have gone to bed before 9:00 for like 5 straight days! I love it though! and I will miss every mintue of it until next year! Luckly we have some good new years eve plans to look forward to! Now enjoy the pictures!

The Pepper is almost out

The other day I was getting ready to make something in the kitchen and I went to get the pepper canister. I was very surprised ( and a little sad) when I realized I only had a little bit left. You might wonder why I felt this way about a can of pepper...but that pepper has lasted for 5 and 1/2 years. Remember when you first get married and you move into your very own house and then look around and realize you have NO food because both of you have been living with your parents before the wedding. Well, I do, and I remember going to the Walmart grocery store on Ridgeway and Mt. Moriah with a very long list on the essentials. I mean I had to buy everything you need to start a kitchen... and one of the things I bought was this pepper can. It has a good memory and feels like the pepper is telling me that a new part of my life might be starting.... (mmm.. maybe someone should come and check on me) anyways.. that brings me to my next point... Tell a funny a story about something dumb you did when you were newlyweds that involves preparing/making food... (if your not married then you can still share:) My grandpa Fearnley tells a funny story about my Grandma .. I'll have to get him to tell it to me again...

For example,

On the first night that I was going to make dinner for us, after our honeymoon and after we had gone back to normal life, I was going to make Jed's favorite: spaghetti. I was getting the water ready and had the meat all cooked and ready to put into the sauce when I realized that I don't know if we even have a can opener. I start to panic because I think this means our first dinner is ruined but luckily my grandparents lived less than 3 min. away... I called them asked them if they had a can opener I could borrow and 5 min. later Grandpa Hiatt was at my door with a handheld can opener! Whew! Now if only I could have figured out how to use it after he left.......

This One is for Rachel....

So my best friend from when I was like 11 wanted to see some pictures of my side of the family. We used to play together with her family every Sunday. Our parents would play games and we would have a blast doing crazy stuff! The Martins had a kid that was the same age as each one of my siblings and couple extra too. It was pretty much awesome!
Okay- This Levi- Elder Fearnley right now. I took picture of his picture. He is serving in Oakland, CA. He will be home July 2009.
Grandpa and Annie are BFF! Sometime she calls him PAPA... and she always cries when he leaves.

This is Mom and Vance just had to get into the picture too!
Shelby -13 Claire-3
Vance-23
Jay -15 (right?)
Thomas-17 He thought he was too cool for this! ( He might be right).

Okay Rachel your turn!! :)

Camping at Village Creek

Here are all the kids in our tent. I think they had a good time. I think that was the best part for my kids was getting in and out of the tent!
Annie having a nice breakfast bar. It was so cold that morning we were outta there by like 9:30!
Pallet fire. I don't know what we would have done if Lad hadn't brought the pallets. Jed and I didn't bring any wood .... Jed said there would be plenty in the woods! ( I don't think so!) so seriously we are really glad we had those or we would have frozen. Hopefully Lad's feet have recovered from him setting them on fire!
I don't know what is on her face here. I don't think it is ashes because she wasn't crying, However, we have no idea what it is!
Doesn't Claire look cozy! Everyone needs a daddy to snuggle! As far as camping trips go, I think this was alright. Next time I want to go when its just a little bit warmer and not so dark by the time you set up everything. It was fun spending time with the George's and Cat---- You were missed ! ( i saw your comment on Christine's blog:) Who wants to go next time! (in the spring!) Also, I should note that Jed has been going to this camp ground since he was like 12 or something and he always goes on a night hike. He went on it alone this year ... maybe sometime he will share this story with you.

Fun with Photos

I am not a professional photographer. ( I know pick your jaws up off the floor), and I'm sure everyone thinks that on some level they can take good pictures, that being said, here are some pictures I have had some fun with over the course of the year. It's weird to think that I started this blog in only January of this year! I don't know why I didn't start sooner. Which Reminds me __Jamie__ will you post that thing about turning your blog into a book?! :)

(p.S. Do you like my new Twilight Colors!! 1 week)

Annie the Fugi Turns Two

Girly Cars! Polly Pocket Style. Annie loves playing with the cars in Nursery but I refused to buy her any unless they were cute and girly. I found these at Tues. Morning. They are sparkly Polly Pocket cars! Sweet!
A Few Monkeys!

Getting Ready to blow her candles out!

Annie celebrated the big 2 this Saturday. We celebrated at Grandma's house. I still can't help but think she is my miracle baby. She was born with underdeveloped lungs and pneumonia. Although her recovery was always certain, I never can forget the fear I felt when she didn't come home from the hospital with me. I thank God everyday she is healthy and happy. She has been blessed with the best big sister in the whole world too! Who else but Claire could put up with a little sister like Annie! I love you both very much!

Also, Fugi is nickname Jed and I gave her when she was about 7 months old. We always call Claire- Bear or ClaireBear but we didn't have a good nickname for Annie.... Jed said on his mission he knew this kid whose parents called him Fugi .. he didn't know why but thought it was funny. Now, when Annie does crazy stuff we say things like Annie is such a Fuge. or Annie the Fugi Yamma... Anyways thought that was something fun to add!

Stats

Claire and Annie both had check-ups today. Claire has not been to the doctor since Aug.07, so we have been lucky but people ask me all the time what she weighs and I had no idea until now:

Claire- 25.2 pounds ( 3rd percentile)
about 36 1/2 in. (30th percentile)

Annie -23 pounds (10th percentile)
33 in. (the last time she can be measured laying down)(50th percentile)

Claire gained 4 pounds in a year!

On another note, while I was in the waiting room I watched as two boys who I assume didn't know each other before today looked at each other and almost instantly began playing tag. At that moment, I thought, man I wish it was that easy for adults. Honestly, why isn't it that easy for us. ... I think we all worry WAY too much about what other people are thinking...I let that hold me back for the first few years that Jed and I were married .. I guess I just figured I had him and that was enough and so I never put much effort into it. I regret that decision because I am sure I missed out on meeting and learning alto of new things. I want to strive harder to be more friendly and find the good things in people that I don't particularly get along with. Anyways what I'm trying to say is this.... Don't let your insecurities hold you back ... just tap the adult on the back next to you and ask them if they want to play tag!! I bet they will say Yes!

Fall Vacation Part 3

Next Stop, the Chattanooga Choo Choo
We ate dinner at the hotel which holds the Choo Choo and then walked around the gardens they have all around the courtyard. Here Jed is showing the girls the koi. (i think that's what they are called)
On the way home we stopped in Nashville to eat at the RainForest Cafe. Claire wasn't too excited about because we were next to the giant elephants that made alot of noise.. However Annie LOVED it... (see below)
Annie found a zebra,, but not her favorite animal.. a giraffe
Annie enjoying the elephants:

Yes, she is screaming with laughter and at the end i think she said the elephants are hungry...!What a silly cute girl.!!

Fall Vacation Part 2

Here is Annie at Rock City... Rock City is this awesome trail through Lookout Mountain. Along the trail there is alot of beautiful things to look at and neat rock formations. Also, there is Fairytale Village and Mother Goose Land ...inside a cave with all these different scenes of Fairtyales and nursery rhymes. I told Claire we were on a special mission to find the Fairytale Cavern and she thought it was awesome! It's dark inside so you can't take picutres....but trust me your kids would love it!
As you can see some of the passageways are really narrow
This is playgroundat RUBY FALLS, this is seperate attraction.... It is also a caves but it is completely underground and there is the biggest underground waterfall in the world inside. We didn't take pictures there b.c the kids were not soo thrilled about the cramped spaces in the caves and the loud water...but afterwards there is a porch with this playground and then they were happy again.

We started the morning with the Incline Railway. Its goes at 45 degree climb up. Then you can see the whole city.

More Rock CITY

Also, at Rock City, there is climbing wall... if you get to the top then you get to go again! Jed got to the top!! YEA! There are more pictures to post ... stay tuned.......
